ADRIEN ARCAND, the “Canadian Fuehrer,” and ten other members of the outlawed National Unity Party have been interned.

They had been “in communication with enemies in Germany, Italy and elsewhere,” Mr. Lapointe, Minister of Justice, explained to the Canadian Parliament yesterday.

Adrien Arcand and ten others had appeared before a Montreal court on Wednesday.

There, documents were produced showing that Fascists “planned to take over Canada some time in 1940.”

After hearing the evidence, said Mr. Lapointe, the judge decided that there was a plot against the safety of the State.
